Nadi Pariksha · Pulse assessment

A traditional lens.
Never the whole diagnosis.

Traditional Ayurvedic pulse assessment used as one part of a broader consultation—not as a replacement for examination, blood pressure, laboratory tests or medical diagnosis.

The approach

Support begins with
the whole picture.

Pulse assessment can add traditional context, but safe care still depends on history, symptoms, medicines, medical findings and knowing when further testing is needed.

Worldwide online consultation enquiries are welcomed. The scope of advice, treatment and prescribing depends on clinical suitability, the patient's location and applicable local regulations.

Understanding the concern

Nadi Pariksha is an Ayurvedic assessment method.

The practitioner palpates the radial pulse and interprets its qualities within an Ayurvedic framework. It is considered alongside history, symptoms, digestion, sleep, appetite, appearance and other forms of examination.

It is not the same as measuring heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure or oxygen level, and it cannot independently confirm diseases, pregnancy, organ dysfunction or laboratory abnormalities.

Could this be part of the picture?

What the conversation around pulse may explore

Pulse assessment is most meaningful when it opens better clinical questions rather than producing a dramatic standalone conclusion.

The Ayurvedic perspective

Nadi within a complete Ayurvedic examination

Ayurvedic clinical reasoning uses multiple sources of information. Nadi is traditionally interpreted alongside Darshana, Sparshana and Prashna—observation, touch and detailed questioning.

A careful practitioner acknowledges uncertainty and recommends appropriate physical examination or testing when symptoms cannot safely be evaluated online.

Traditional Ayurvedic terminology describes a clinical framework; it should not be read as a guaranteed mechanism, result or replacement for modern diagnosis.

How Dr. Dhyani may help

Classical principles.
Clear modern context.

The exact plan varies by individual. These are areas an appointment may explore—not a standard protocol or promise of outcome.

01

Pattern recognition

Pulse qualities may contribute to the Ayurvedic understanding of constitution and current imbalance.

02

Clinical questioning

Findings are used to explore symptoms and routines rather than to make unsupported claims.

03

Appropriate referral

Possible medical concerns are directed toward examination, tests or specialist care when needed.

A considered consultation

What Dr. Dhyani
may consider.

  1. 01

The reason for consultation and the symptoms that need to be understood.

  2. 02

Current diagnoses, medicines, recent reports and previous medical evaluation.

  3. 03

Appetite, digestion, sleep, energy, stress, routines and constitution.

  4. 04

Whether the limitations of an online pulse assessment make in-person review preferable.

Care, coordinated

Pulse assessment has clear limits.

Nadi Pariksha should not be used to rule out heart disease, infection, pregnancy, cancer, diabetes or any other medical condition. Chest pain, fainting, severe breathlessness, new weakness, confusion or an irregular rapid heartbeat need prompt conventional assessment.

Ayurvedic care may complement appropriate conventional treatment; it does not replace emergency care, prescribed medicines, diagnostic evaluation or necessary specialist review.
